COMING EVENTS

February 18,2009
OWC's Day at the Capitol

The Oklahoma Women's Coalition will host a day at the State Capitol on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Watch here for more details coming soon.

.

The Oklahoma Women’s Coalition is a new statewide nonpartisan association of organizations and individuals founded to support specific legislation and policies that advance the potential and equity of women and girls in Oklahoma.

Our bipartisan Board of Directors strives for consensus and common ground. While we will push for passage of legislation, the Coalition will not endorse or oppose candidates for public office or political parties.

Our goal is to advance bills benefiting women and girls that can win support from members of the Oklahoma Legislature on both sides of the isle. We are currently focusing on issues that impact women and girls in Oklahoma in the areas of aging, econimic self-sufficiency, education, health, incarceration, and violence against women.

We welcome as members of the Coalition both individuals (@ $25/year) and organizations (@ $100/year). Members of the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition can:

~ Be part of an exciting new effort to improve the lives of  women and girls.
~ Meet and network with other Oklahomans advocating for common goals.
~ Participate on one of the Coalition’s many working committees.
~ Receive Oklahoma Women’s Coalition newsletters via email.
~ Receive OWC email Action Alerts on key bills and policy actions.
~ Help host the OWC's Day at the Capitol on February 18, 2009.
~ Attend the OWC's Summer Annual Business Meeting.
~ Participate in the OWC's Fall advocacy agenda setting event.

Whatever level of participation you select, you will be helping to shape public policy and influence the state agenda as it relates to women’s and girl’s issues.
