ADVOCACY DAY AT THE CAPITOL
March 2, 2010

1. LEGISLATIVE BRIEFING FOR COALITION MEMBERS

WHEN: 8:00 AM – Reg­is­tra­tion
9:00 AM – Brief­ing & Send Off to the State Capitol

WHERE: Okla­homa His­tory Cen­ter, Chesa­peake Room
2401 N. Laird east of the capi­tol,
across the street from the Governor’s Mansion

We will begin with a wel­come from Sec­re­tary of State Susan Sav­age and hear why your grass­roots par­tic­i­pa­tion is impor­tant.  Learn the most effec­tive ways to make your voice heard from Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Lee Den­ney.  Coali­tion Advo­cacy Com­mit­tee chair Jan Peery will bring us up-to-date on hot top­ics.  You’ll find out who your leg­is­la­tors are, point­ers on how to talk with House and Sen­ate mem­bers, and learn sev­eral key issues impor­tant to Okla­homa women, girls and families.

2. ADVOCACY DAY AT THE CAPITOL

WHEN: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

WHERE: State Capi­tol Building

PARKING: Park in south or east Capi­tol park­ing lot

You won’t want to miss par­tic­i­pat­ing in our “Day at the Capi­tol!”  Coali­tion mem­bers will go to the State Capi­tol to visit with state House and Sen­ate members.

3. LUNCH WITH OKLAHOMA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES

WHEN: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

WHERE: Okla­homa His­tory Center

It’s an elec­tion year in Okla­homa!  The Okla­homa Women’s Coali­tion is pleased to have join­ing us for lunch the major can­di­dates for Gov­er­nor, includ­ing Jari Ask­ins, Randy Brog­don, Drew Edmond­son and Mary Fallin. Women mem­bers of the State Leg­is­la­ture, cab­i­net mem­bers, and other statewide elected offi­cials have also been invited.  Join us and visit with the can­di­dates and elected offi­cials in a more infor­mal set­ting over lunch.
