ADVOCACY DAY AT THE CAPITOL

1. LEGISLATIVE BRIEFING FOR COALITION MEMBERS
WHEN: 8:00 AM – Registration
9:00 AM – Briefing & Send Off to the State Capitol
WHERE: Oklahoma History Center, Chesapeake Room
2401 N. Laird east of the capitol,
across the street from the Governor’s Mansion
We will begin with a welcome from Secretary of State Susan Savage and hear why your grassroots participation is important. Learn the most effective ways to make your voice heard from Representative Lee Denney. Coalition Advocacy Committee chair Jan Peery will bring us up-to-date on hot topics. You’ll find out who your legislators are, pointers on how to talk with House and Senate members, and learn several key issues important to Oklahoma women, girls and families.
2. ADVOCACY DAY AT THE CAPITOL
WHEN: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
WHERE: State Capitol Building
PARKING: Park in south or east Capitol parking lot
You won’t want to miss participating in our “Day at the Capitol!” Coalition members will go to the State Capitol to visit with state House and Senate members.
3. LUNCH WITH OKLAHOMA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES
WHEN: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
WHERE: Oklahoma History Center
It’s an election year in Oklahoma! The Oklahoma Women’s Coalition is pleased to have joining us for lunch the major candidates for Governor, including Jari Askins, Randy Brogdon, Drew Edmondson and Mary Fallin. Women members of the State Legislature, cabinet members, and other statewide elected officials have also been invited. Join us and visit with the candidates and elected officials in a more informal setting over lunch.
